"The bathroom is out of this world!" Jane could see Sofia and Mike had really enjoyed their stay in the Main House Queen Studio at Willowbrook Country Apartments, a property that oozes character in a beautiful rural setting close to Queenstown. "It's huge! Can you believe it – almost 11 square metres! – and the underfloor heating makes the floor lovely and warm." "Does it have a shower or a bath?" asked Jane. "Both" Sofia replied.

"There is a spacious shower with sliding doors on two sides so you can step right in and the bathtub is kind of antique with claw feet and an enamel finish. Willowbrook uses Rinnai Infinity gas heaters so there's plenty of hot water which is fantastic if you feel like luxuriating in the bath. There's a huge mirror above the vanity for hair and makeup and the most amazing pressed tin ceiling which the owners tell me, is Victorian!"

Jane asked "Did you cook much or go out to eat?" "Well there are some excellent restaurants in nearby Arrowtown but our apartment had such wonderful facilities - the deluxe kitchenette has almost everything you would find in a full kitchen and the fridge/freezer was bigger than mine at home! So we ended up eating in more than out." Sofia wasn't finished … "Mike had all the sport he wanted on Sky TV and there was even a DVD library so we were able to chill out with a couple of movies.

The apartment was so cool, heaps of space and those quirky historical features like original fireplaces and that bathroom ceiling!" "Bet it was nice to get away from the kids for a while …" Jane wondered aloud. "Yes of course it was, but I think when we come down in the ski season, we'll bring them.

The apartment has a double sofabed. Our queen bed was really comfortable too and the location is so peaceful, you sleep really deeply." Jane had one more question: “How about the necessities of life, like Wifi and laundry?" "All there." Sofia proudly announced. "A fully equipped laundry open from 8am to 8pm and excellent Wifi throughout Willowbrook."
